The objective of this program is to generate information on Costa Rican
biodiversity, in a process that is led by national and local needs. It
entails analyzing specimens and data on the natural history of spiders,

The purpose of this program is to share knowledge about biodiversity with
high-priority audiences, both local and international, contributing to
a process known as bioliteracy, so as to promote awareness

This process is geared toward offering an educational and recreational
facility where diverse visitors can learn about and enjoy biodiversity,
INBio and the national parks of Costa Rica.

The publishing program fosters artistic and intellectual production on
behalf of bioliteracy by publishing books, folders and other high-quality
educational materials. The audiovisual program is designed to raise awareness
and share knowledge with the general public on the importance of biodiversity,
thus encouraging citizens to become involved in biodiversity conservation
and management. Information is imparted through educational and scientific

This program is developing software, infrastructure and a culture of information
technology to maximize the effectiveness of activities to capture, manage,
generate, package and disseminate information on biodiversity, especially
